Grok Bot

SpaceXSI's AI teammates that sign in to your tools and finish the work.

Grok Bot is SpaceXSI's agent product: AI teammates that sign in to the work tools a team already uses, do the task, and return the finished result. SpaceXSI, the artificial intelligence (AI) unit of SpaceX that was called xAI until 2026, builds it on its Grok models.

What is Grok Bot?

You message a bot in a text thread, the way you would message a coworker, and bots can hand work to each other in group chats. A routine lets a bot learn a task once and then repeat it on its own, and a bot stops to ask a person only when a decision needs one. The Grok chatbot that Elon launched in beta on X on November 3, 2023 answers questions, and Grok Bot carries out the tasks.

Some fans assumed Grok Bot was Digital Optimus, the agent at the center of MACROHARD that watches a live screen and works the mouse and keyboard. Elon Musk answered on August 12, 2026:

The two appear as separate units on the org chart.

Why Grok Bot Exists

Elon founded xAI in July 2023 "to understand the true nature of the universe," and the Grok chatbot was the first public product of that work. Grok Bot moves the same models from answering questions to finishing work inside the tools companies already pay for.

How it Works

Each bot runs on its own cloud computer that stays on, with a web browser and a command line, and works in the real apps, from email and Slack to Google Drive and payment or client portals. Team Bots, launched in public beta on September 28, 2026, connect to Salesforce, Notion, and GitHub through plugins, join Slack channels under their own handle, and keep a separate memory for each person on the team. The models underneath are the Grok line, trained on the Colossus supercomputers in Memphis.

The Economics of Grok Bot

Grok Bot has no price of its own. In late August 2026 SpaceXSI added it, with a separate usage allowance, to the SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, and SuperGrok Heavy subscriptions and to Cursor's Pro, Pro+, Ultra, and Teams plans. Cursor is the AI code editor SpaceX bought for $60 billion in August 2026, so the bots reach paying developers through two storefronts SpaceX owns.

The State of Grok Bot Today

Early beta began on August 11, 2026. Elon Musk said the same day that the beta would widen after the team fixed basic issues and released Grok 4.6, which shipped on August 12:

On September 3, 2026, SpaceXSI opened Grok Bot to enterprises, with two weeks of free use for Grok and Cursor Enterprise customers and access, network, and audit controls for administrators. Bots for customer support followed on September 22, and Team Bots entered public beta on September 28 for Teams and Enterprise plans.

What Comes Next

The next numbers to watch are paid adoption after the free enterprise window ends and the first Grok Bot user count or revenue figure SpaceXSI publishes. Grok 5, still in training, is the next model the bots would run on, and Elon has kept Digital Optimus on a separate track inside MACROHARD.

The Bottom Line

Seven weeks after its early beta, Grok Bot was on enterprise plans and working inside Slack channels as shared Team Bots.
